KiE-Q has two aspects:

perceiving the consious components intuition and cognition

followed by decoding emotions from feelings and behaviour

Emotions are processed first but they are not accessible by the consiousness. Feeling is a chronological subsequent result of emotion processing. Feelings and sometimes behaviours are conscious. So there is an elegant way to decode emotions afterwords feelings and behaviour.

From these neurological findings one can derive rituals, behavioural patterns and processes (KiE-Q) that lead to a conscious behaviour and thinking towards ourselves, our fellows and our world.

Thinking can then be formed in conscious thought cycles and, above all, ended. KiE-Q leads to good decisions followed be actions and a hopefully good effect for us and the world.

November 2018 by Richard Graf – Emotion Researcher – EQ extended to KiE-Q according to Sience and Life:

” The emotion system is the origin and end of all thinking. One is the cognitive system, which can generate conscious visual perception as well as a thought. In this system, however, many process steps are not accessible by the consciousness. The process of visual perception takes about 550 milliseconds (5.1) and only the last step is consciously perceived as activity in the visual cortex (V1).

Figure 01: Inseparability of emotions, intuition and cognition

The other, the emotion system, is a movement system that is not accessible by the consciousness. It is faster than the cognitive system and completes its processing after about 350 milliseconds (3). The sequence of the systems is: first the emotion system, second the cognitive system.

What are Feelings

Ask yourself: Are feelings conscious?

Unpleasant and pleasant feelings from emotions arise as an accompanying effect during activating the cognitive system when the emotion system cannot autonomously manage a situation. Feelings are conscious; otherwise, we would not perceive them. A pleasant feeling always arise when a “movement” has succeeded (Joy as basic emotion). The activation of the cognition system is a conscious act, following the evolutionary inseparability of emotions, intuition and cognition. This process is accompanied by unpleasant feelings caused by the basic emotions such as fear, disgust, anger, grief, guilt and shame.

Joseph LeDoux deserves great respect because he already described and published the separation into two memory systems for the basic emotion fear at the end of the 90s. His knowledge and the knowledge of many others researcher are now brought together in the inseparability of emotions, intuition and cognition (K-i-E). Both are inseparably linked together. These two systems work in parallel, largely autonomously and come to different decisions at different points in time, on the basis of different memory systems. The cognitive system creates a consciously coherent world view from the results of both systems. Neither system is better than the other is. They work with specific memory systems according to their inner logic. In a complex process, they are brought together into one decision, which also includes the non-decision.

Figure 02 – KiE Concept with two DecicisonMaking Systems

At the same time, the two systems interact with each other, making them appear more like a monolithic system. The coherent view of the world reinforces this impression.
The neurological emotional structure (the amygdala) that provides safety (fear) is the only emotion that can be located in the emotion system. The other neuronal emotional structures (disgust, anger, grief, joy, guilt and shame) are both hierarchically organized and cyclically networked. Thus, they are not easily to assign to certain brain areas. The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is involved in both social emotions (guilt and shame) and cognitive activities.

Ask yourself: What is the difference between emotions and feelings?

KiE-Q – Emotional-intuitive-Cognitive Intelligence

KiE Intelligence consists of this:

to perceive feelings and behaviour

to use the konwledge of the unseperability of emotions, intuition and cognition

to decipher the logic of emotions

to use rituals regulating (up &down) the emotional excitement

to use intuition consciously (KiE Intuition) as well as cognition

to form good decisions with conscious thought cycles and the KiE DecisionMaking Strategy individual

to shape the neurological emotional structures (neS) within the emotion system

to perceive the neurological Programms (neP = emotions, composite emotions and indidual nePs) in Intuition, Feelings, thinking, behaviour

The emotion system cannot speak, feel or otherwise communicate consciously.
