The current crisis is forcing us all to work together digitally. The shortcomings of making decisions together, which were already apparent before the crisis, have intensified in digital cooperation. Companies now have to organize their work with it and many people are trying to maintain their social contacts with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The freely accessible digitized KiE-DecisionMaker<\/a> solves these problems: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group dynamics as well as social and cognitive biases\nare now made obvious and reinforced in video conferences by collaboration\ntools. The situation calls for digitized DecisionMaking and DecisionMaking\nprocesses in which everyone can have their say at the same time and jointly\nsupported decisions can be brought about safely and promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaboration Tools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The versatile tools allow standard functions such as\ncommunication, backlog, content and collaboration. The market is bubbling over\nwith new ideas to work together from a distance and in an increasingly creative\nway. We ourselves also maintain our social contacts in a visual caf\u00e9, which we\nusually do with Zoom, and use other formats to communicate with our loved ones.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We record our business tasks in Trello and carry out\nour work with Scrum as well as with ceremonies such as reviews, refinements and\nplanning. For communication, we use the messenger services WhatsApp, e-mail and\nsocial media as well as telephone calls with and without video functions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The core of all communication and interaction remote or in person is and remains DecisionMaking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the countless collaboration tools lack\nDecisionMaking. These tools are built in such a way that only one person can\nspeak at a time, otherwise no one will be understood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This restriction is solved by the KiE-DecisionMaker\nand everyone can speak at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digitized DecisionMaking is\nmissing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Surely you have encountered the situation in\nwhich everyone talks in confusion, one individual or  another dominates the discussion, or everyone\nis silent. Such scenarios now no longer exist. With our digitized\nDecisionMaking, everyone can have their say at the same time. We have\nsupplemented the feature missing in all common collaboration tools with the\nKiE-DecisionMaker to bring about secure and timely decisions with 100%\nparticipation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the KiE-DecisionMaker, the competencies of\nall parties involved flow into the decision-making process. The decision\nprocesses make it possible not only to easily rate and to establish\nunderstanding for a topic but allow for prioritizing as well as for making a\ncommitment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DecisionMaking processes can be planned\nbefore the meeting and integrated flexibly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opinions, ratings and other assessments can be\ncollected by survey before the interaction and integrated into the meeting.\nSuitable response types are provided for the various topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone can have their say at the same time and all\nresults immediately become available online. At the end of the decision-making\nprocess, a download is released which makes the entire process openly available\nto everyone. The time-consuming preparation of result protocols is completely\neliminated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the KiE-DecisionMaker and\ndecision processes to jointly supported decisions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Decisions can only be made safely and promptly with\na standardized and accepted set of solid decision-making processes. Only when\nall are able to have their say at the same time can this be achieved with ease.\nThe exclusion of anchor effects, which may lead to unintentional as well as to intended\ntactical delays, must be ensured. At the same time, the processes must make\neveryone accountable so that the competencies of all are used for a jointly\nsupported decision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It does not matter whether we are in a room\ntogether or remotely. The app is available to everyone free of charge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The individual steps of the DecisionMaking process can\nbe mapped in the digitized KiE-DecisionMaker. The different KiE scales are\nselected according to the question. For the resource question, the status is\ncalled up in advance with the KiE-DecisionMaker and checked again after the\ninput has been processed. The prioritization and commitment processes can be\neasily carried out with the KiE-DecisionMaker and all participants can view the\nresults online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Success Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nine experts from the judiciary, youth welfare\nservices and several civil society associations acted as advisors to the\nsupport network for the children of detainees over a two-year period. At the\nlast advisory board meeting at the German Institute for Human Rights in Berlin,\nthe advisory board members evaluated the aspects of the project using the\nKiE-DecisionMaker and 15 KiE-Scales. In less than an hour, the advisory board\nmembers created a detailed picture of the assessments. The necessary measures\nfor the complete achievement of the objectives were introduced with the use of\nKiE resource questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nquickly visible patterns of opinion as well as the targeted answers to resource\nquestions (e.g. “What would it take to agree to success?”) led to\nconstructive agreements and motivated the advisory board. The Advisory Board\nintends to continue the cooperation beyond the duration of the project with\nconcrete projects. The participants would hardly have been able to get to the\npoint so quickly in lengthy discussion rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Success criteria <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Predefined and at the same time flexibly\nadaptable decision-making processes as well as alignment with the human\ndecision-making process are the success criteria for digitized\nDecisionMaking.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inseparability of emotions(E), intuition(i)\nand cognition(K), the KiE trilogy, with which decisions are made safely and\npromptly, have served as design specification for the KiE-DecisionMaker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The right culture of openness, participation,\nfocus, eye level, courage and commitment is created when DecisionMaking processes\nand the digitized KiE DecisionMaker are applied. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants are anonymous, and no\nauthentication or identification is required. No personal data of the\nparticipants is recorded or stored.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design is focused on smart phones and can be used by the browser and thus by common tablets, notebooks and corresponding devices.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
