Emotional, intuitive and Cognitive Intelligence is the recognition of these trilogy and the inseparability of the emotional and cognitive systems.
From these neurological findings one can derive behavioural patterns, rituals and processes that lead to a conscious behaviour towards ourselves, our fellows and our world.
Thinking can then be formed in conscious thought cycles that lead to good decisions for us and the world.

The emotional system is the origin and end of all thinking. New thinking with conscious emotional logic expands both human and artificial intelligence.
We have two essential Systems for Thinking
Both of them operate in the human brain. One is the cognitive system, which can generate conscious visual perception as well as a thought. In this system, however, many process steps are not accessible by the consciousness. The process of visual perception takes about 550 milliseconds and only the last step is consciously perceived as activity in the visual cortex (V1).
The other, the emotion system, is a movement system that is not accessible by the consciousness. It processes the logic of emotions, which initiates and, if necessary, automatically executes a movement, usually called autopilot. It is faster than the cognitive system and completes its processing after about 350 milliseconds. The sequence of the systems is: first the emotion system, second the cognitive system.
What are Feelings
Ask yourself: Are feelings conscious?
Unpleasant feelings arise as an accompanying effect during activating of the cognitive system when the emotional system cannot autonomously manage a situation. Feelings are conscious; otherwise, we would not perceive them. Pleasant feelings always arise when a "movement" has succeeded.
Joseph LeDoux deserves great respect because he already described and published the separation into two memory systems for the basic emotion fear at the end of the 90s. His knowledge and many others are now brought together in the inseparability of emotions, intuition and cognition (K-i-E).
The Inseparability of Decision-Making Systems
We have two different decision-making systems the cognitive system and the emotional system both are inseparably linked together. This two systems work in parallel, largely autonomously and come to different decisions at different points in time, on the basis of different memory systems. The cognitive system creates a consciously coherent world view from the results of both systems. Neither system is better than the other is. They work with specific memory systems according to their inner logic. In a complex process, they are brought together into one decision, which also includes the non-decision.
At the same time, the two systems interact with each other, making them appear more like a monolithic system. The coherent view of the world reinforces this impression.
The neurological emotional structure (the amygdala) that provides safety (fear) is the only emotion that can be located in the emotion system. The other neuronal emotional structures (disgust, anger, grief, joy, guilt and shame) are both hierarchically organized and cyclically networked. Thus, they are not easily to assign to certain brain areas. The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is involved in both social emotions (guilt and shame) and cognitive activities.
Ask yourself: What is the difference between emotions and feelings?
K-i-E Intelligence consists of this:
- to recognize the basic emotions
- to decipher the logic of emotions
- to use intuition consciously as well as
- to form good decisions with conscious thought cycles
The emotional system cannot speak, feel or otherwise communicate consciously. When you hear a voice, it is certainly no longer intuition. The emotional system activates the cognitive system, which forms a thought out of the emotional impulse, the accompanying emotional feeling, the body sensation and other stimuli. A thought is a process in which a coherent world view is created.
The individual Decision-Making Strategy
A sensible way of dealing with decision-making systems is to embed them in an individual decision-making strategy according to their evolutionary design and predetermined processes.

Intuition works successfully when the emotional memory of experience is developed and the emotional excitement works in an appropriate range. This requires Emotional-intuitive-Cognitive Intelligence.
When we think both Decision-Making Systems are always involved
The tension and the “worrying” arises when the decisions from both systems do not fit together and the coherent world view becomes inconsistent. Therefore, there is no "Worrying" system. Daniel Kahneman assumes for the cognitive biases a system 1. The confusion indicates that managers as well as all people should activate and consciously use the K-i-E Intelligence.
Based on these findings, rules and processes can be derived for good decision-making as an individual or as a team.
